The Property Investors Association of Australia (PIAA) in conjunction with The Australian College of Professionals, presents this extensive progam to provide a structured framework for the provision of property investment advice.

 

 

Next PIA01 Component Course Dates:
Sydney: Wednesday 17th through Saturday 20th February 2010- 4 days
Sydney: Wednesday 24th through Saturday 27th March 2010- 4 days
Brisbane: Monday 8th through Thursday 11th February 2010 - 4 days.

Steven is an highly experienced lawyer with an extensive knowledge in all aspects of commercial law, with an intimate knowledge of finance and transactional structuring  Law.  Steven’s experience Is rare in that for many years he as junior lawyer worked on land and development projects whilist today he uses this as an adjunct to his commercial and corporate work. He brings to the course, practical knowledge and legal expertise in the areas of land, environmental remediation and securities law.

Steven  currently lectures for PIAA in the topics of:

  • Land ownership
  • Contractual Issues of land contracts
  • Land sale and purchase structured finance arrangements
  • Environment Law regarding remediation for development and security purposes
  • Misleading and deceptive conduct in the sale of  land

Steven has published a number of articles on commercial subjects.

In 2008 PIAA awarded Steven with its highest order a Fellowship of the Association in recognition of his experience in land matters and for the assistance he and his firm have given to PIAA.

Steven lectured for the Australian Institute of Company Directors from 1989-2008,  and lectured in the Master and Doctorate courses at UTS in corporations, finance and securities law from 1989-1995. He currently also lectures on securities law and the overview of land law for the Kaplan University for the Financial and Securities Institute of Australia.

PIAA Accreditation:

To achieve PIAA Accreditation three modules are required. PIA01 is the new component bringing together the Statement of Property Investment Advice (SOPIA) to present to your client. The other two are offered, with the appropriate emphasis, by The Australian College of Professionals and are available elsewhere as generic offerings.

For your information, recognition of prior learning will be given for:

1. RG146 components for General and Investment Advice, and

2. Real Estate sales entry level through to Licence level qualifications from any Registered Training Organisation in Australia.

The minimum requirement for PIAA Accreditation is entry level sales training, this is called different names in different states such as Certificate of Registration in NSW and Sales Agent in Victoria.
